Your first visit to our office will usually begin with a general examination to gauge your oral health and identify any issues that may require treatment. In many cases, treatment can begin as soon as an issue is identified, often in the same appointment. More complex dental issues, or a complicated history of treatments, may mean second appointment for a consultation. However, most first visits are routine procedures that check out both your medical history and offer our dentist a chance to evaluate your oral health.
On the day of your first consultation, please provide the following information:
- Dental x-ray history
- Up to date medication list
- Dental insurance forms, if applicable. This will save us time at the end of your appointment, and save you time in the waiting room.
IMPORTANT: All patients under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Our office should be made aware of any medical history that may cause issues for future treatments such as but not limited to: diabetes, high blood pressure, joint replacements, rheumatic fever, blood thinners, bone density medications, radiation therapy, and artificial heart valves.
Please feel free to forward any records from a previous dentist to our office. This can be done via email to admin@gemsdental.com.
